Making turkey bacon in the air fryer is the absolute best way to make it! Turkey bacon is completely different than regular bacon and we find that it doesn’t pan fry as nicely. It tends to burn in spots and then be undercooked in other spots. The air fryer sure helps cook it up to crispy perfection!

Healthier Turkey Bacon

Turkey bacon not only cooks differently than regular bacon it also cooks faster. You can come really close to that real crisp “snap” that you do with regular bacon using the air fryer!

As long as you know you don’t get exactly the same results as regular bacon you can enjoy turkey bacon for the tasty, healthier version that it is!

How to Cook Turkey Bacon in Your Air Fryer

  1. Place 6-8 strips into the basket of the air fryer. They can overlap somewhat!
  2. Cook for 5 minutes at 365°F.
  3. Flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Cook in 2 minute increments until it reaches desired crispness!
  5. Remove and serve.

Tips and Tricks

  • Turkey bacon dries out when you cook it too long, BUT that’s how it’s crispy! You can get it puffed up and dried out if you follow the 2 minute increments!
  • You can layer the strips, as you can see in my photos they puff up and then air circulates between them to cook them perfectly! I put in 8 strips overlapping and they were perfect.

This has actually turned us into turkey bacon converts, not even kidding! There is NO comparison when you do it on the stovetop, we cooked this to crispy perfection and it’s now going to be a regular breakfast staple!

Happy cooking!

Ingredients

  • 8 slices turkey bacon

Instructions

  • If needed, preheat your air fryer to 365°F.
  • Place 6-8 strips into the basket of the air fryer. It is okay if they overlap, they will puff up and the air will circulate just fine after cooking them for a while.
  • Cook the strips for 5 minutes at 365°F.
  • Flip and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Cook in 2 minute increments until it reaches desired crispness! The longer you cook the more they will dry out, so keep that in mind.
  • Remove and serve.

Recipe Notes

  • This is a great low carb recipe as well!
